![]() I don't know if she was fucking with me or actually sick. Luckily this instructor barely spoke unless needed and I passed with no infractions. And then I took my second test about 2 months after that. It took me about a month to start driving again. She stopped yelling and calmly told me I failed and killed at least 8 kids in less than 20 minutes. You hit the curb and killed Tommy!" By the time we parked, I was sobbing and shaking uncontrollably. She randomly would yell throughout the test saying that I was a child killer or I killed another kid. I lost all my confidence and started shaking. She looks me dead in the face, absolutely serious, and says "You killed the imaginary kids! Poor Suzy and John! You killed them!" I didn't know how to react. I began panicking looking around the car saying there was no one there near the car or the stop sign. As I ease onto the break, she started screaming that I ran over some kids. So we pull out and the instructor tells me to drive to the stop sign. I had taken more classes than I needed to because I wanted to be completely comfortable driving. I was really confident when I first got into the car. It's pretty unbelievable but completely true. As soon as he closed the door he said "You're actually supposed to physically look back when you reverse but you've obviously been driving for a while." I thought this was gonna fail me but luckily it didnt." He opened the door to check how close I was to the curb and then checked something off on his notepad. I had a ton of experience and being a huge gear head and playing lots of racing games definitely helped my ability to drive a bit more comfortably and I really think it helped me pass the driving test.Īlso, during the parallel parking test, i didnt physically look back when I parked but i did it perfectly. I would have been royally fucked with a pineapple if i got caught or into an accident but luckily that never happened. I was lucky to pass my driving test because I actually drove with my permit for over a year because I needed to get to my job location. The instructor had done this one too me as well and I just stayed the same speed and just straight up ignored him. Sometimes the instructor will tell you to speed up a little. The posted speed limit on the course is 15 or 20 mph from what I remember. I told him I'm not driving until he does but told me that if i dont start driving, hes gonna fail me so i went on my merry way. This one actually happened to be so i asked him to put his seat belt on 3 times and he just straight up refused all 3 times. ![]() Thing is though, he won't put his seat belt on. If you don't then he checks it off that you didn't do it.Īnother thing the instructor will do is, after he gets in and gets all his papers ready, he tells you to start driving. Before you do anything, you have to visually show him that you are checking your mirrors, adjusting your seat, and put on the seat belt, even if you already did all that before he gets into the car. The instructor will get into your car, get his papers ready and then ask you to start driving. I took the test back in 08 so it might be different now with lots of cars coming with electronic ebrakes but thats how it was back then. It cannot be an electronic Ebrake or a foot operated one. The instructor will fail you automatically if you don't have a hand brake. Anyways, there were a lot of sketchy things some of the instructors would do but luckily I knew most of them. Not if youre taking the test at the DMV at least. "Where I'm from in NJ, we don't actually do the driving tests on the road. It's pretty fucked up but it happens a lot. I posted some stuff, on r/cars, that the driving instructors do where I took the test in N.NJ. ![]()
